When God Says No

To start, I want to say hi there old friend or new friend if you're new here! This is the first of many posts that will go up in a very short time. The reason for this is because I want all of this to be about Jesus & not about me. I feel like the Lord wants me to share all of this simply for you to read, not to bring more traffic to my site.

So here we go! I'm so glad you're here & I hope the Lord speaks to you through at least one of these posts!

To start I want to talk about what it means when we feel like God has said no to us about something. I'm sure all of us have felt that at least once & if you haven't, well, don't worry, it's coming.

This concept is something that I learned last year & the Lord just spoke this so clearly to me one day & I have looked to it on so many occasions since then & it's this:

When God says no:

-He's saving something FOR you

-He's saving you FROM something

After the Lord spoke this to me I immediately wrote it down & stuck it on my dorm room wall. Lol you can ask my roommates, they know that by the end of the year I had notes ALL over the place. They're just a great way to remind myself of things the Lord has spoken to me because it doesn't get through my brain the first time.

The reason this was so monumental for me is because I need a "why" in order to move forward. If I've been praying about or for something for a long time & I feel like the Lord is saying no, or it doesn't end up happening for me, I need a "why" to reconcile it. It's like as kids whenever our parents would tell us we couldn't go hangout with our friends & they didn't tell us why, we just haaaad to know, right? Maybe it was just me, lol. It's the same concept, when we know why then we can move forward.

This helped me through a really hard "no" that I received from the Lord. I was convinced that the Lord told me yes to something that I had been praying about very specifically & it ended up falling through. I was DEVASTATED. But who wouldn't be? So, I had to remind myself that when God says no to something, it's for 1 of 2 things. He's saving something else for me & if I get this thing I really want then I will miss out on the awesome thing He's wanting to give to me. OR He's saving me from something really bad that He knows would happen because He sees all things.

So the next time you feel God tell you know, remember that He's a good father & He wants to give you good things. He has our best interest at heart & He knows better than we do.
