Effective v. Great
today i want to share something that is currently wrecking my life. hopefully it does something for you too & will help you in your walk with Christ. the Lord revealed to me the difference between being great and effective and that we're getting confused between the two. a lot of times, as Christians, we have this grand desire to be great for Jesus. we want to reach thousands and make His name famous and we want to be used by God and we want to do amazing things for the sake of Christ. that's all fine, if it's only about Jesus and not at all about us. but a lot of the time we make it about us. we think it's in our hands to execute all of those things, but the truth is, we're not responsible to be great. our responsibility is to be effective for Christ. we're effective for Christ when we're constantly striving to be more like Him and seek His face in everything we do. we're effective for Christ when we act on the nudges of the Holy Spirit and we share our testimony to encourage a fellow believer. we're effective for Christ when we make Him our ONE and ONLY priority in life and let everything else fade away. we're effective for Christ when we hand everything over to Him and let Him be the one to guide the path for our lives. you can be effective for Christ and be great, but you can also be great for Christ and not be effective. and i would sacrifice greatness by worldly standards to store up treasure in Heaven by being obedient and effective for Christ. i don't want any of the glory or recognition, i want it to be 100% about Christ and 0% about me.
i hope that challenges you and causes you to take a second and think about why you're doing what you're doing. i pray that God would put His finger on the places in your heart that aren't totally pure and that He begins to cleanse your motives, myself included. also, y'all raved about this outfit so i wanted to share the details with y'all on here !
