First Words
happy weekend y'all !!
i love how the Holy Spirit works. my faith looks so different today than it did 6 months ago. i feel like Jesus is genuinely my best friend. i talk to Him all the time. like the other day i was driving home from dance practice by myself & i was listening to the radio, but i wasn't singing along & i just felt the Lord's presence. i immediately muted my radio & began to cry & pray in tongues. nothing was wrong, i just felt His presence & responded immediately. when the Holy Spirit prompts you, respond. trust me, you'll never regret responding or acting on it's prompting, you will regret it if you don't act on those prompts to engage in community w Christ. i've never had those kind of experiences before except within the last 6 months & those moments when the Lord prompts me are a lot more frequent now. the only thing that has changed within the last 6 months is that i have made a conscious effort to talk to God throughout my day. i talk to Him before i take a test or before i go on stage before a performance. i do my best to make sure that the first person i talk to in the morning is God. i wake up & before i even get out of bed in the morning i say something like hey God you're good & i thank you for waking me up today & i pray that you would use me to further your kingdom today. & then i get out of bed. it puts the focus on God & giving Him thanks instead of how much i don't want to get out of bed & go to school. it helps me put in perspective who is in control. another thing that i love to do is watch the sunrise in the mornings. the way that my windows face in my room have the perfect view of the sunrise every morning. i open my blinds & get ready in the mornings before school. i love sunrises, i always have & for whatever reason i just feel God when i watch the sunrise. it just signifies how constant & beautiful God & His creation is. be more quick to love on God & less quick to give Him the laundry list of things that you need Him to fix. bc let's be real, He's not a genie, He's the creator of the universe. yes, He cares for you & your needs, but yes, He also deserves praise from you. so don't forget to thank Him for what He's done & what He's going to do.
so i want to encourage you to give God the first words out of your mouth everyday, tell Him how good He is & just treat Him like a friend. i can guarantee that your relationship w Him will grow & benefit from it. love on Him & thank Him for caring for you & protecting you.

p.s. this past weekend was my first competition of the season !! if we didn't have a competiton on the weekend of Valentine's day i totally would've posted a Valentine's day outfit or a Valentine's day themed post, but i spent this weekend w my very bestfriends dancing our hearts out ! so there wasn't exactly a time that i could've worn a cute outfit for Valentine's lol. but, if you want to see a butt load of pics definitely make sure to follow me on social media bc there will be so many pics lol :-)) & i also attached a slide show of some of the pics from the comp this weekend below ! the Crossfit Open starts this Friday night & i'm super nervous ! plus i have another competition this weekend so i will be so beyond dead come next Monday morning lol pray for me y'all !!
