When God Says No
if God is showing you signs of something that isn't in His will for your life, why would you not remove whatever it is from your life? maybe it's a friendship, maybe it's a relationship, maybe it's a habit, or a sin you can't seem to get rid of, maybe it's an addiction. whatever "it" may be, don't hang on to it just because you like it, or it's safe, or it's what you've always known, or it feels good, or it would be awkward without it, or it has been defining you for so long that you don't even know who you are anymore. we get so wrapped up in the things of this world. but the truth is, the things of this world are fleeting. He is forever. as Christians we are called to be like Christ. we fashion our hearts after His, we decide to follow Him. as Christians, we voluntarily sign up to listen to what He has to say & follow the plans that He has set out for us. at the end of the day, if God is showing you that "it" isn't in His will for your life then it's detrimental to you & your faith in Christ. it crosses over into the category of things that are damaging your relationships & your self esteem. when you're operating outside of God's plan, God can't bless you like He could if you were walking with Him. something supernatural happens when God is first. if God is first He will bless everything else you have. when you follow the plan God has for you He can bless you & be with you & be involved in what your doing to further His kingdom. there is such a satisfaction when you're following Christ completely & passionately. you don't mind having your plans changed or tweaked bc you want what God has for you. when God says "no" He also says, I've got something better, I love you, I cherish you, you are my treasure. when you remove whatever "it" is from your life He says I can give you more, I can bless you with the "something better" I have in store for you. God does not waver, He is not insecure, we get insecure & we are the ones who waver. we don't drift closer to God, we drift away from God. your relationship with Christ is not supposed to be easy, you should always be doing things that are out of your comfort zone, He will always be pushing you. the Bible talks specifically about when you accept Christ into your life that your life will not be a breeze, bc you are working in the supernatural & not in the natural anymore. you are going against the grain of the world & it is difficult. I will be the first to say, IT IS DIFFICULT. life SUCKS sometimes, but I have joy & hope bc HE IS GREATER ! can you feel me screaming at you through this computer screen yet ?! yes, life is difficult & life sucks sometimes, but the Bible also talks specifically about how the Lord will not give you more than you can handle. so, do NOT be discouraged bc you are stronger than you think you are & if you have the God of the universe & everything in it is on YOUR side, then WHO CAN BE AGAINST YOU ?! you have to let go of whatever it is that you're holding onto that isn't of God's plan. He wants the absolute best for you. He wants to give you the world, He loves you SO much. He has a special plan that is just for YOU ! I think that is so cool that the creator of the universe has my best interest at heart & loves me enough to have a specific, perfect, & God filled plan for my life. He wants you so bad that He sent His ONLY son to earth to die on a cross to cover your sins & bad decisions. I think He deserves some serious credit. He is such an awesome God & He loves you so much it's crazy. give Him your everything, give Him your whole heart, your whole life. give it all, He will bless you in ways you never could've imagined. but, you can't have both, you have to let go in order for Him to bless you, bc you can't be of your own will & God's will, you have to choose what you want.
I'm going to challenge you to evaluate your life, figure out what you haven't given to Him & ask Him to take those things from your life that aren't of Him. decide what you want, if you want Him, tell Him, pursue Him & He will pursue you. I promise that if you decide that He is what you truly want, He will pursue you relentlessly. He will take you on a journey that will ultimately end with you being with Him in heaven. He wants you so bad, He will give you all that your heart desires, if you chose Him. what will you choose?
